Carry your own masks, gloves, eatables, advises IGP (Railways) D Roopa

BENGALURU:

Following Indian Railways’ rebooting of passenger trains, the first train from Bangalore city railway station will leave for New Delhi at 8.30 pm on Tuesday.

The railways have already clarified that only passengers with confirmed online tickets will be allowed to enter railway stations and board trains.

Ahead of the departure, IGP(Railways) D Roopa took stock of the preparedness at the station.

“Tomorrow’s train is only to New Delhi.  Please carry masks, eatables, water, sanitisers, gloves sufficient enough for two days’ journey to Delhi. Bengaluru being in red zone, there will be no snacks vendors. Even if it is decided to have vendors, they will be a bare minimum,” she tweeted.

“Those who’ve booked online are requested to get dropped by your personal vehicles, as public transport will largely not be there. However, pls don’t get too many people to see you off. Soon after dropping passengers, we request drivers to leave the premises,” she tweeted.

For good measure, Roopa added, “There will be temperature checking done by health dept officials. Passengers to come about 2 hours prior to train departure. Middle berths are not being sold. Maintain physical distance even inside bogies. Carry own food.”
