Bengaluru: An FIR has been filed against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), event management company DNA Entertainment Networks, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), and several other parties in connection with a tragic stampede that occurred near Chinnaswamy Stadium. The incident resulted in the loss of 11 lives and left 56 individuals injured, as reported by police on Thursday.
The FIR was registered at the Cubbon Park police station and includes serious charges under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. These charges encompass culpable homicide not amounting to murder (Section 105), voluntarily causing hurt (Section 115), and causing grievous hurt using dangerous weapons (Section 118). Additionally, the FIR addresses the liability of members of an unlawful assembly for offenses committed in pursuit of a common objective (Section 190), as well as assault or criminal force against public servants (Section 132), acts endangering the life or personal safety of others (Section 125(12)), unlawful assembly (Section 142), and abetment of an offense (Section 121).
The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to determine the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.
