BENGALURU:
The Karnataka police have stepped up their efforts to tackle fake news on the coronavirus with the creation of a special facts-check link. Social media in particular has been rife with misinformation on various aspects of Covid-19.
Now, members of the public can verify the facts about videos, photos or posts through factcheck.ksp.gov.in. The website will go public from Thursday.
DGP Praveen Sood tweeted: “Launching now: Karnataka State Police Fact Check – Don’t fall for fake news.”
The facts-check page is part of the Karnataka state police website and also allows citizens to upload any fake story identified by them on any social media or shared on WhatsApp.
