Karnataka tally nears double ton; Bengaluru is top hotspot with 68
The highest single-day spike yet in Covid-19 cases of 16 has taken Karnataka’s tally to 197.
Bengaluru accounts for the single largest number with 5 cases reported, of which two had a travel history to Delhi, while Belagavi and Bagalkot have 3 each.
Mysuru has seen an increase of 2 positive cases while Mandya, Chikaballapur and Dharwad have registered one each.
As per the health department?s media bulletin, 197 Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Karnataka till Thursday evening, of which 161 are active cases including one pregnant woman.
The bulletin claims 30 positive cases have recovered and have been discharged, of which 17 are from Bengaluru, 4 from Dakshina Kannada, 2 each from Uttara Kannada and Kalaburagi, and 1 eacn Kodagu and Bengaluru Rural.
As per the data, Bengaluru tops the table with 68 positive cases followed by Mysuru with 37, Dakshina Kannada with 12, Bidar and Belagavi with 10 each, Uttara Kannada, Chikaballapur and Kalaburagi with 9 each, Bagalkot 8, Bellary 6, Mandya 5, Davanagere, Udupi and Bengaluru Rural with 3 each, Dharwad 2 and Kodagu, Tumkur and Gadag with one positive each, for a total tally to 197.
