Hospitals can focus on serious cases,they tell CM
BENGALURU:
Home quarantine for asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic Covid-positive cases was recommended at a meeting of medical experts with the Chief Minister on Wednesday. The rationale of the experts was that such a step would allow designated hospitals to focus on treating serious cases and those with co-morbidities.

Among the measures suggested to reduce the infection doubling rate was strict enforcement of precautionary measures in closed places and crowded areas. Increasing the health field staff for contact tracing was suggested, for which staff from other departments could also be used
Uninterrupted oxygen supply and drugs supply was crucial to the effective treatment of Covid patients, the experts opined.

The use of telemedicine to treat asymptomatic patients, effective use of tele-ICU consultation and regular online training on treatment protocols were recommended.
They felt people must be taken into confidence to dispel the fears and stigma associated with the virus. The doctors also felt their opinions should be seriously considered by the government.
