Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia will induct Rao and his supporters into the party at AAP’s Delhi headquarters

Senior and popular Bengaluru police officer Bhaskar Rao’s political ambitions are now out in the open. Rao, whose resignation from the service has been accepted by the Karnataka government, will officially join the Aam Aadmi Party at a function in New Delhi on Monday, April 4.
An AAP release sent to media houses states that the former IPS officer will be formally inducted into the party at 1 pm on Monday at the party office at 206, Rouse Avenue, New Delhi.

“Senior AAP member and Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia will hold a crucial press conference at the AAP headquarters on Monday, 4th April 2022, along with MLA and Karnataka in-charge Dilip Pandey and AAP Karnataka convenor Prithvi Reddy. The leaders will induct and welcome ex-IPS officer Bhaskar Rao (former ADGP of Karnataka) and his supporters into the party,” the communique reads.

The 1990 batch IPS officer was previously posted as Bengaluru city police commissioner in 2019-20. He had applied for voluntary retirement in September last year.
Rao on Saturday tweeted, “Last trip home after curtains down of 32 years in IPS. I have extreme gratitude to my family, the people of Karnataka and all my colleagues, friends, elders & young people in my life and finally the Governments of Karnataka across parties… heading into choppy seas.”
