Bengaluru: Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda delivered a blunt warning to officials during a progress review involving the five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority, asking them to place public interest above bureaucratic manoeuvring.
“Show your intelligence in your work; do not experiment with it on me,” the minister told officials, according to video remarks circulated by his media team.
Byre Gowda said every administrative system had checks and balances and stressed that he was seeking effective public service rather than any personal favour. He told officials that the objective must be to provide good governance and improve Bengaluru.
Describing Bengaluru as the “golden egg-laying hen” for Karnataka and the country, the minister said protecting and improving the city was a collective responsibility.
He also appealed for cooperation from officials, saying meaningful administrative reforms would allow both elected representatives and officers to serve with pride and earn public respect.
