BENGALURU:

Former CM and Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah on Thursday said it was not appropriate to reopen schools for two more months, given the  rate at which Covid-19 is spreading in the state.

He advised the CM  as well as Primary and Secondary Education Minister Suresh Kumar not to take any hasty decision in this regard.

Siddaramaiah tweeted: “As the corona infection is spreading in the state beyond limits, it is not appropriate to open schools for at least two more months. Chief Minister and Suresh Kumar should not make any hasty decision.”

ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊರೊನಾ ಸೋಂಕು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ಮೀರಿ ಹರಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಇನ್ನೆರಡು ತಿಂಗಳು ಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುವುದು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಅಲ್ಲ. @CMofKarnataka ,@nimmasuresh ಅವಸರದ ತೀರ್ಮಾನ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು.#COVIDー19

ಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಜುಲೈ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನರಾರಂಭಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವವನ್ನು @nimmasuresh ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇದರಿಂದ ಆತಂಕಕ್ಕೀಡಾಗಿರುವ ಪೋಷಕರು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವವನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು @CMofKarnataka ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕು.#COVIDー19

ಬ್ರಿಟನ್, ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸ್, ಇಟಲಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಬೇರೆ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪುನರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊರೊನಾ ಸೋಂಕು ತಗಲಿರುವುದು ವರದಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ.

ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳ ನಂತರ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ಪುನರಾರಂಭದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಸೂಕ್ತ.@CMofKarnataka

Referring to Suresh Kumar’s proposal to reopen schools in July, he said the Chief Minister should take note of the concerns of parents.

He also tweeted: “There are reports about students getting infected after reopening of schools in Britain, France and Italy. It is appropriate to think about reopening schools on analysing the situation after two months.”

Emid worries and concerns eExpressed by parents across the state, the Education Minister on Wednesday had assured that the government would not take any hasty decisions regarding reopening of schools.
