DJ Halli riots: 80 accused sent to Ballari Jail

Of those arrested in connection with Tuesday’s riots at KG Halli and DJ Halli, 80 have been shifted to Ballari Central Jail.

Three persons died in police firing and over 200 suffered injuries in the mob violence.

The police produced the arrested persons via videolink in court on Thursday.

80 of the accused were transferred to the Ballari prison in KSRTC buses under CCB and KSRP security. Three of the detainees were infected with the coronavirus and were sent to a Covid Care Centre. 15 other miscreants have been detained for 5 days.
