BENGALURU:
A district magistrate will probe the riots that took place on Tuesday night in the DJ Halli and KG Halli areas. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa at his official residence ‘Kaveri’ on Wednesday.
Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai informed the media that the decision was in conformity with the guidelines of the National Human Rights Commission.
Union Minister Sadananda Gowda, Revenue Minister R Ashoka and senior police officials attended the meeting.
Three persons died in police firing and more than 140 persons have been arrested so far for assault, arson and vandalism in the DJ Halli, KG Halli and Kaval Byrasandra areas.
