BENGALURU:

When entire country is strictly following the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s order to not to step out of the home, one of the Bengaluru corporator flouted all rules and guidelines and arranged a water tanker for residents without following any social distancing.

The independent corporator, CN Lakshminarayan (Gundanna) elected from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) ward number 113-Domlur supported BJP to grab power in the local civic body.

Lakshminarayan’s twitter post on Wednesday invited an ire from twitterati after his post claimed: “Poor people stay in isro slum/colony, no sump borewell under repair, thanks to bwssb. bbmb Domlur ward. stay@home let’s fight Corona.”

The post has 4 photographs in which a water tanker was arranged for the residents in which everyone were seen standing so close to each other which was violating Prime Minister’s social distancing.

The corporator even went one step ahead and tagged his political bosses @blsanthosh @PMOIndia @CMofKarnataka @PCMohanMP @mla_raghu@ArvindLBJP @drashwathcn @RAshokaBJP @BJP4Karnataka to get a pat from them.

@Changeindia20 said: “how can you let ppl crowd like that, pl have them stand in a line, 1 metre apart, otherwise this lockdown is pointless.” Another twitterati tagging city police commissioner said: “see social distancing is being totally ignored over here.”

Interestingly after getting trolled on social media, with less than 24 hours Lakshminarayan twitted 44 second video in which he created ‘boxes’ for people to maintain social distancing to take free mineral water.

His tweet reads: “Free mineral water is been distributed daily in ISRO slum Domlur ward.”
