He offered construction material at attractive rates, vanished after payments
BENGALURU:
The Bengaluru East division’s CEN (Crime, Economics and Narcotics) wing has nabbed a conman who cheated builders by posing as a manager of a prestigious company and promising to supply them construction material like iron and cement.
The accused, Dawood Pasha (46), allegedly defrauded Balaji Construction Company, which lodged a complaint with the police.
The accused’s modus operandi was to send emails and make phone calls introducing himself as a manager of a reputed company and offering quality construction material at a lower price than the competition. After getting the payments, he would go missing.
A case has been registered under section 66 c & d of the IT Act and section 420 of the IPC against the accused.
