College Student Led Contract Killing: Four Arrested in Bengaluru’s Biklu Shiva Murder Case

Date:

Bengaluru: In a major breakthrough in the sensational Biklu Shiva murder case, Bengaluru Police have arrested four contract killers, including a college student, who were allegedly hired to eliminate Shiva for just ₹1.5 lakh.

According to senior police officials, the arrested men — all residents of Malur in Kolar district — were part of a supari (contract killing) gang allegedly led by a student named Narasimha, currently pursuing a degree at a government college in Malur. The operation was carried out under the leadership of ACP Rangappa, who has been spearheading the investigation into the brutal machete attack.

Police said the gang was hired through Vimal, a suspect already arrested in the case. Vimal reportedly acted as the middleman, arranging for Narasimha’s gang to execute the hit. The attackers were promised ₹1.5 lakh, with individual shares of ₹50,000.

According to investigators, the gang cornered and attacked Biklu Shiva with machetes near his residence on June 15, in a pre-planned assault that involved 9 to 10 individuals. Of them, police had earlier arrested five, and now four more have been taken into custody. The suspects were nabbed late Monday night from different areas in Bengaluru and the outskirts of Malur.

Police have also recovered CCTV footage confirming the gang’s direct involvement in the crime. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to receiving the contract from Narasimha, who coordinated the plan via Vimal.

Sources said Narasimha had links with known rowdy-sheeters in Bengaluru, often seen socializing with them and even clicking photos to boost his street image. Despite being a student, he had turned into a part-time contract killer, authorities said.

ACP Prakash Rathod’s team, which handled the questioning, confirmed that the gang used machetes in the attack, and evidence including videos clearly showed their involvement. The four have now been remanded to judicial custody.

Police also suspect that Vimal, apart from arranging the supari, helped the attackers with logistics, hideouts, and movement within the city.

This development has shed light on the alarming trend of young individuals, including students, getting involved in violent crimes for petty money. Investigations are ongoing, and police have vowed to uncover all links in the contract killing network.
