CCB Nabs 9 Foreign Nationals Living Illegally in Bengaluru After Visa Expiry
Bengaluru: In a major crackdown on illegal immigration, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru Police arrested nine foreign nationals who were found staying in the city despite the expiry of their passports and visas.
The operation was conducted as part of an ongoing drive to identify and detain foreigners living unlawfully in the city. According to CCB sources, the arrested individuals had entered India on various types of visas, but continued residing in Bengaluru long after the validity period ended.
Among those detained, four are citizens of Nigeria, one each from Sudan and Congo, and two from Ghana. The CCB has confirmed that one Nigerian national has already been deported, while the repatriation process for the remaining eight is currently underway.
All nine individuals have been sent to a detention centre pending completion of deportation formalities, officials added. The crackdown reflects CCB’s intensified efforts to monitor overstays and uphold immigration laws in the city.
