CM, MLAs, actors, entrepreneurs come forward to adopt 721 govt schools

BENGALURU:

The state government’s education reforms consultant, Prof MR Doreswamy, said 190 MLAs, including Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, have agreed to adopt government schools.

Speaking at a news conference at Vikasa Soudha on Tuesday, Doreswamy said the CM has selected10 schools in his constituency, Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayan 8 schools, and DCMs Govinda Karjol and Lakshman Savadi 5 schools each.

Alongside, film actor Sudeep has adopted 8 schools, Nitte University 8, and Srinivasa University, Mangalore 4. In total, 721 schools have been adopted.

In the near future, IT organizations will come forward to develop government schools with their CSR funds. Similarly, Dharmasthala Administrator Dr Veerendra Hegde and Infosys Foundation president Sudha Murthy have also indicated their willingness to adopt government schools.
