Developed by Office of Tejasvi Surya, Repurposed KSRTC bus will test for Covid symptoms

BENGALURU:

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Monday launched a mobile fever clinic repurposed from a KSRTC bus.

The mobile clinic is a joint initiative of Sanchit Gaurav, CEO of Housejoy, the Government of Karnataka, KSRTC, MP  Tejasvi Surya and ACT Covid Fund. Other partners are Portea Medical, SRL Diagnostics, Biognosys Technologies, ApnaComplex and Bangalore Apartments Federation.

The bus has beds and a consultation area, and each team comprises a doctor, three nurses and a lab technician.  Four such mobile clinics are planned for Bengaluru.

The team will start with red zones and will try to screen the maximum number of residents. For those with Covid-like symptoms, their swab samples will be collected for Covid testing by Biognosys Technologies (ICMR certified) at a discounted price of Rs. 3,750.  If found positive, their information will be shared with government and they will be asked to quarantine.  Residents also have the option to get a blood test (CBC, ESR, CRP) done by SRL Labs for a discounted price of Rs. 300. 

KSRTC mobile clinic buses are also in use in Mysuru, Mandya, Tumkur, Mangaluru, Bagalkot, Hubballi, Belagavi and Raichur. Among those present on the occasion were Deputy CM Laxman Savadi, Revenue Minister R Ashoka, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya and KSRTC MD Shivayogi C. Kalasad.
