Police conducted a successful raid on a house near Babburu village in Hiriyur taluk of Chitradurga, resulting in the seizure of illegally collected tusks, sandalwood, and red sanders. This operation led to the arrest of two individuals involved in the illegal activities.
The individuals in question have been identified as Chandrasekhar from Tarikere and Khalil from Tamil Nadu. They had rented a house belonging to Narayanappa in Babburu village, claiming to be engaged in the timber business.
The confiscated items have an estimated value of Rs 3 crore, and a thorough investigation is currently underway. This incident falls within the jurisdiction of the Hiriyur Rural police station.
