Chamarajanagar tragedy: Govt sets up inquiry
IAS officer Shivayogi Kalasad to probe 23 Covid deaths in Chamarajanagar district hospital

IAS officer Shivayogi Kalasad has been appointed Investigating Officer in the Chamarajanagar district hospital tragedy which claimed 23 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Kalasad has been asked to submit his report within three days, according to an order issued on Monday afternoon by N Manjunatha Prasad, Principal Secretary (Revenue).
“The government has noticed that around 23 Covid-19 people died at Chamarajanagar District Hospital from 09: 00 am on 02.05.2021 to 07:00 am on 03.05.2021. This is a serious matter of concern. Government has appointed the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation’s Managing Director Shivayogi Kalasad as inquiry officer and you are directed to submit a report within three days,” the order states.
