Mobile phones used for cricket betting seized
BENGALURU:
The CCB sleuths have arrested 2 persons in a hawala case and have seized Rs 4.50 lakh in cash and two mobile phones used for cricket betting and gambling.
The accused have been identified as Rana Samla (36) and Chetan (20), residents of PRS Lane in Nagarthpet. Both are natives of Lachadi village in Gujarat.
The duo were running a shop illegally in PR Shastri Lane, Nagarthpet, and were transferring lakhs via hawala.
A case has been registered by the Halsuru Gate police.
On Friday, Joint Commissioner (Crime) Sandeep Patil tweeted, “CCB conducts 2 raids, one cricket betting raid done. Three accused arrested and 3 lakh seized. Another case on illegal hawala agent, 4.5 lakh seized. Further investigation is on.”
