CBSE and the Union HRD Ministry told the Supreme Court on Thursday that the 10th and 12th standard board exams have been cancelled.
The Supreme Court had sought the government’s response on a petition seeking cancellation of the CBSE board exams due to corona fears.
As the exams were approaching, the petitioner’s lawyer Rishi Malhotra had requested a speedy trial.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, arguing on behalf of the government and CBSE, had said a decision would be taken on Wednesday, following which the Supreme Court had adjourned the hearing of the case to Thursday.
The 10th and 12th class exams of 250 foreign schools affiliated with CBSE have already been cancelled.
