Robbery spree in broad daylight near Chickpet metro station
A video of two miscreants in hoodies and masks, allegedly robbing walkers at knifepoint in broad daylight, has sent the city police into a tizzy. The incident was recorded on the mobile phone of a person who was apparently inside a parked vehicle.
Sharing the video, IGP and Home Secretary D Roopa tweeted that the incident is thought to have taken place near the Chickpet metro station on Tuesday morning.
The accused are yet to be identified as none of the victims has yet lodged a complaint with the police.
In the video, the two youths, dressed in black, can be seen walking next to a parked and apprehend a pedestrian, threatening him at knifepoint. The man, however, manages to flee from the spot.
The duo then return to a bylane which seems to be their hiding place. After some time, both approach another pedestrian in the area. One of them holds the victim’s collar, pulling him back, while the other threatens him with a knife.
Following the brazen incident, the police have appealed to the public to come forward promptly in reporting crimes.
