Cash-rich BBMP, but mobile-unfriendly new website!

Date:

In Silicon City, Bengaluru wards delimitation website is accessible only on computers…

BENGALURU:

A day after the Urban Development Department issued a gazette notification on the BBMP wards delimitation 2022 on Thursday, the richest civic agency in Karnataka, which presents a budget approximating Rs 10,000 crore every year, failed to publish a mobile-friendly website related to the wards delimitation.

BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath, who conducted a media conference to provide details on the delimitation exercise on Friday, shared a web link http://bbmpdelimitation2022.com with reporters — but the irony is that the link could not be accessed on mobile phones. When some reporters brought this to the notice of higher officials, they were informed that the link would open only on desktops or laptops.

Interestingly, the agency which was awarded the delimitation task registered a new domain http://bbmpdelimitation2022.com to publish the details of wards delimitation.

Simple solution!

The annoying snag could easily have been avoided if BBMP, which has its own website https://bbmp.gov.in/home, had created a sub-domain to publicise the contents of the BBMP wards delimitation exercise.
