Tulu to Become Additional Official Language in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada; Mangaluru Cabinet Clears ₹32,611-Crore Development Push
Bengaluru: The Karnataka cabinet on Thursday, November 5, approved the reconstruction of three bridges at a combined estimated cost of Rs 94 crore, according to the cabinet decision notes.
In Bhadravathi, Rs 42 crore was approved to rebuild the bridge linking the KSRTC bus stand with Siddharoodha Nagar within the city municipal council limits. The notes say the bridge goes under water for several days when surplus water is released from the Bhadra reservoir during the monsoon, disrupting traffic, and that its narrow width also inconveniences residents. A 210-metre-long bridge with a 19.61-metre-wide RCC deck slab is to be built.
In Shivamogga city, Rs 40 crore was approved to rebuild the dilapidated old Tunga bridge on State Highway 57 (Bagalkot-Biligirirangana Betta). The new bridge will be 292.03 metres long and 12 metres wide.
In Molakalmuru taluk, an estimate of Rs 12 crore was approved to rebuild the bridge over the Jinagihalla river and develop approach roads on the Nagasamudra Cross-Hucchangidurga road via Nagasamudra, on National Highway 150A.
