Tulu to Become Additional Official Language in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada; Mangaluru Cabinet Clears ₹32,611-Crore Development Push
Bengaluru: The Karnataka cabinet on Thursday, November 5, approved a new bridge across the Benneto river near Kanoor in Kalagi taluk of Kalaburagi district, along with a raised approach road, at a cost of Rs 21 crore, minister Priyank Kharge said in a statement. The cabinet decision notes list the work on State Highway 125.
The notes say the existing Kanoor bridge is submerged when the river is in flood, which cuts off traffic and connectivity. The approved work is a 160-metre-long, 10.50-metre-wide bridge, with a 540-metre bituminous approach road on both sides of the bridge, raised above the present level.
The decision notes do not give a start date or completion timeline for the work.
