Bengaluru, May 11: The Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) has announced the appointment of new agencies for the maintenance of streetlights across its jurisdiction as part of the Greater Bengaluru Authority’s ongoing energy-efficiency initiative.
Under the project, conventional streetlights are being replaced with energy-efficient LED streetlights, while various power-saving measures are being implemented across the city. The works are being carried out under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with government approval.

As part of the transition, all existing streetlight maintenance contracts within the BNCC limits—excluding Wards 34, 35 and 36 under the Rajarajeshwari Nagar Assembly constituency—have been terminated with effect from April 30, 2026. Responsibility for maintenance has now been handed over to new agencies.
Officials said the contractors responsible for installing the LED streetlights will also undertake maintenance activities. Citizens can directly contact the designated agencies and grievance managers to report streetlight-related issues and seek prompt resolution.
