Blinkit Penalised ₹80,000 for Illegal Garbage Dumping in North Bengaluru
Bengaluru: In a strict enforcement action, the Bengaluru North City Corporation has imposed a penalty of ₹80,000 on private entity Blinkit for illegal dumping of waste in a public area.
The incident was reported in Ward No. 9 along the Railway Parallel Road in the Byatarayanapura Division, where officials found that garbage had been dumped in violation of civic norms.

During inspection, authorities confirmed that the waste had been illegally disposed of by Blinkit, prompting immediate action. A fine of ₹80,000 (Rupees Eighty Thousand only) was imposed on the company for the violation.
The enforcement drive was conducted in the presence of Assistant General Manager (AGM) Thirthaprasad and Junior Health Inspector (JHI) Kavitha.

Officials stated that illegal dumping poses serious risks to public health and the environment. Emphasising a “Zero Tolerance” approach, the Corporation has reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against such offences.
Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar has also issued a stern warning, stating that any recurrence of such violations will invite even stricter penalties and action.
