BENGALURU:
R Ashoka , the former state minister, has called for a CBI investigation into the recovery of ₹42 crore at a contractor’s residence during income tax raid. Speaking at the state BJP office, Jagannath Bhawan in Malleswaram, Ashoka stated that only a CBI probe can reveal the truth behind this incident.
Ashoka further emphasized that corruption has become deeply rooted in Karnataka. He criticized the Congress party for their involvement in various corrupt activities. According to him, the Congress government in Karnataka has made a deal with the central Congress to fund the Panchayat elections. A staggering amount of money has been allocated for this purpose, including ₹600 crore for Madhya Pradesh, ₹200 crore for Rajasthan, ₹200 crore for Chhattisgarh, ₹600 crore for Telangana, and ₹100 crore for Mizoram. Ashoka questioned the timing of these funds, as they were released just before the announcement of elections in these states.
Furthermore, Ashoka raised concerns about the delayed payment to contractors, which only started after the announcement of these state elections. He found it suspicious that the government suddenly began construction projects after ignoring the contractors’ demands for so long. Ashoka also highlighted allegations made by the Finance Minister of Telangana, who accused Ambikapati of hoarding money in his house and planning to send it to Telangana.
In response to MB Patil’s accusation that the BJP government is involved in money laundering, Ashoka sarcastically pointed out that it was actually their own former representative who was caught in this scandal. He made it clear that those who used to criticize the BJP and frequently visited Siddaramaiah’s house are now facing the consequences of their actions.
