Bengaluru: In a significant development following the tragic stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium, Karnataka’s Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Intelligence, Hemant Nimbalkar, has been reassigned. This decision comes in the wake of the incident that claimed the lives of 11 individuals and left 56 others injured.

The stampede occurred on Wednesday evening as a large crowd gathered to celebrate the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team’s victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The overwhelming turnout led to chaos, resulting in the unfortunate loss of life and numerous injuries.

In response to this calamity, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the suspension of Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda, along with four other senior police officials, as part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stampede.
