12 fresh positive cases in Karnataka
BENGALURU:
The state capital reported a fresh Covid-19 death, taking its fatalities to 6, while another death reported from Bidar district takes the state’s toll to 25. Meanwhile 12 fresh positive cases were reported in the state, with 4 in Bengaluru.
Education Minister and Covid-19 spokesperson Suresh Kumar said Karnataka has a total of 601 positive cases. “Till today, 271 patients have recovered,” he added.
“Patient 590, 82 years, male resident of Bidar, admitted on April 27 with a complaint of SARI, died on April 28 at the designated hospital in Bidar, found positive for COVID-19 today,” he said. “Patient 557, 63 years, male resident of Bengaluru Urban, with diabetes, hypertension, hypothyroidism and renal failure, was on dialysis. Had multiple myeloma and was on chemotherapy. Admitted on April 30, and died on May 2 due to a cardiac arrest,” Kumar added.
On Saturday, Bengaluru Urban reported four, Vijayapura and Tumkuru reported two cases each, and Bidar, Chikkaballapur, Bagalkot and Belagavi reported one positive case each.
