Goa conduit for 3.5 kg of curated marijuana seized in Mumbai
BENGALURU/MUMBAI/NEW DELHI:
Following the seizure of 3.5 kg of curated marijuana (buds) in Mumbai on Tuesday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has claimed that the receiver in Bengaluru has links with ‘Page 3 celebs’.
According to the NCB, the seizures from foreign post offices in Delhi and Mumbai were sourced from the US and Canada, and were destined for Goa.
According to the NCB, curated marijuana has a huge demand in Mumbai, with the best quality being sold for Rs 5,000 per gram. The bud is primarily sourced through the dark net and is mostly based on cryptocurrency.
One person who was arrested, F Ahmed of Calangute in Goa, works as a driver in a prominent resort and supplies the bud to ‘prominent’ receivers in Bengaluru.
In the Delhi seizure, the consignee was misguided by his Mumbai contact that some ‘legal’ items were coming from the US for some Mumbai-based persons.
The NCB has acknowledged the operational role of Sameer Wankhede, ZD/Mumbai, Amit Ghawate, ZD/Bengaluru, and Kuldeep Sharma, AD/Delhi.
