BENGALURU:
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has urged Bengalureans not to pay heed to rumours of an extension of the week-long lockdown, which runs from 8 pm on July 14 (Tuesday) till 5 am on July 22.
Convening a corona task force meeting on Monday, the CM said there was no proposal for a lockdown extension. He emphasized that the lockdown was for the purpose of controlling the increasing number of infections in Bengaluru Urban and Rural districts.
A tweet from the CM’s official handle said: “Chief Minister Shri @BSYBJP held a Covid Task Force meeting today. The government is not proposing to extend the 1 week lockdown imposed in Bangalore city and rural districts. Chief Minister urges the public to cooperate with the government without any fear.”
