Bengaluru, August 14: For the first time in Karnataka, the state government has introduced an e-pass system for public entry to the 79th State-level Independence Day celebrations scheduled for August 15 at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground in Bengaluru, Chief Secretary Dr. Shalini Rajneesh announced on Wednesday.

The initiative aims to regulate crowd entry and enhance security at the event, which is expected to attract thousands of citizens.

How to Get the E-Pass

  • Citizens interested in attending can apply through the Seva Sindhu Portal – www.sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in.
  • Applicants must enter their Aadhaar details, register, log in, provide their mobile number, and enter the OTP to download the pass.
  • Each pass is valid for one person only and only on August 15.

Important Guidelines

  • Entry Gate & Timing: Passholders must enter through Gate No. 5 before 8:15 am. Latecomers will not be allowed entry, and their pass will be invalid.
  • Age Rule: Children under 6 years do not require an e-pass.
  • Mandatory ID: Original government ID must be carried along with the e-pass (printed or digital).
  • Transfer Restrictions: Passes are non-transferable and limited to 3,000 in total on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Parking: No parking facility will be provided for passholders; they must make their own arrangements.

Dr. Shalini Rajneesh emphasised that the move is part of the government’s digital governance and crowd management initiative for major public events. She urged citizens to secure their e-passes early and adhere to all safety and security guidelines.
