Bengaluru: A fire incident occurred in the burns ward of Victoria Hospital on Monday due to a suspected short circuit in a switchboard, according to preliminary information. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
A total of 26 patients, including five in the ICU, were safely evacuated and relocated to the H Block of the hospital following the blaze.
The fire broke out suddenly in the burns ward, causing panic among patients and staff. Hospital authorities acted swiftly to shift all patients to a safer area. Fire and emergency personnel rushed to the scene and successfully brought the fire under control before it could spread further.
Hospital sources confirmed that the situation is now under control and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the short circuit.
This incident has once again highlighted the importance of fire safety preparedness in critical care units.
