Bengaluru: Bengaluru East City Corporation Commissioner D S Ramesh has directed officials to process e-Khata applications without delay and give applicants clear guidance on missing documents and ownership-related issues, so that residents do not have to make repeated visits to offices.
Ramesh issued the directions while inspecting e-Khata camps at Whitefield and Marathahalli in Mahadevapura zone and the HAL subdivision in K R Puram zone. He reviewed the receipt of applications, verification of property records and delivery of services, and spoke to residents about the difficulties they faced. The corporation said several B-khata property owners attended the camps for e-Khata services under the “Nanna e-Khata, Nanna Hakku” campaign.
Clear guidance on documents and ownership
Officials were told to examine applications and supporting records thoroughly. Where documents were missing or ownership issues arose, they should explain the requirements clearly and guide applicants on how to resolve them. Ramesh also called for transparent information about the process to prevent confusion.
He directed staff to take residents’ complaints about application submission, discrepancies in property records and processing seriously, and resolve them in accordance with the rules. Officials should work responsibly and avoid unnecessary inconvenience or harassment to applicants, he said.
The commissioner asked officials to provide necessary facilities and assistance at the camps, explain the application procedure and the benefits of obtaining e-Khata, and ensure staff dealt courteously with the public. He also called for wider awareness of the campaign so that property owners could use the services.
Camps held in six subdivisions
The camps were held at Assistant Revenue Officers’ offices in Hoodi, Marathahalli and Whitefield subdivisions of Mahadevapura zone, and HAL Airport, K R Puram and Horamavu subdivisions of K R Puram zone. They offered residents e-Khata services relating to their property records.
