Bengaluru: In a large-scale anti-encroachment operation, the Bengaluru District Administration reclaimed 16 acres and 23 guntas of encroached government land with an estimated market value of ₹80.90 crore, under the leadership of Bengaluru District Commissioner G. Jagadeesh.

The coordinated drive was carried out across multiple taluks of Bengaluru Urban District, where Tahsildars inspected and cleared illegal occupations on various categories of public land, including cremation grounds, gomala land, drainage lines, rajakaluves, government lakes, burial grounds, and revenue survey lands.

Taluk-Wise Encroachment Clearance Details

Bengaluru East Taluk

  • Rampura village, Bidarahalli Hobli (Sy. No. 103 – Cremation Ground):
    0.10 guntas cleared | Value: ₹1.50 crore
  • Hirandahalli village (Sy. No. 11 – Burial Ground):
    0.05 guntas cleared | Value: ₹0.50 lakh

Anekal Taluk

  • Marasuru village (Sy. No. 499 – Drainage):
    1 acre 02 guntas | Value: ₹1.00 crore
  • Indabele village (Sy. No. 131 – Adjacent Rajakaluve):
    0.30 guntas | Value: ₹0.60 lakh
  • Yadavanahalli village (Sy. No. 164 – Government land):
    0.06 guntas | Value: ₹0.20 lakh
  • Koppa village, Jigani Hobli (Sy. No. 110 – Gomala land):
    7 acres 21 guntas | Value: ₹60 crore

Sarjapura Hobli

  • Dommasandra–Tigalachowdenahalli (Sy. No. 214/1A & 84/2 – Mid Rajakaluve):
    0.10 guntas | Value: ₹0.50 lakh
  • Adigarakallahalli (Sy. No. 65 – Government Lake):
    0.20 guntas | Value: ₹0.62 lakh

Bengaluru South Taluk

  • Doddamaranahalli, Tavarekere Hobli (Sy. No. 21 – Gomala land):
    0.14 guntas | Value: ₹0.53 lakh

Bengaluru North Taluk

  • Bettahalli village, Dasanapura Hobli (Sy. No. 31 – Gomala land):
    5 acres 10 guntas | Value: ₹15 crore

Yelahanka Taluk

  • Bilijaji village, Hesaraghatta Hobli (Sy. Nos. 26, 23, 22 & 3 – Revenue survey lands):
    0.15 guntas | Value: ₹0.45 lakh

Strong Message from the Administration

The operation underscores the district administration’s zero-tolerance policy toward illegal encroachments on public land, particularly land meant for environmental protection, public utilities, and community use.

Officials confirmed that regular inspections and eviction drives will continue, and legal action will be taken against repeat offenders.

The drive was conducted in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesh K. Naik, Revenue officials from the District Commissioner’s Office, Concerned Tahsildars from respective taluks.
