Bengaluru | Badminton Coach Arrested for Alleged Rape of Minor
BENGALURU: A badminton coach has been apprehended by the Hulimavu police on charges of raping a minor.
According to reports, the police took action following a complaint lodged by the mother of a 16-year-old girl. The accused, identified as Suresh Balaji, 30, hails from Tamil Nadu.
Police sources revealed that the investigation uncovered explicit photos and videos of other girls on the coach’s mobile phone, suggesting a pattern of predatory behavior. It is alleged that he sexually assaulted the victim multiple times.
The situation came to light when the girl, who had been visiting her grandmother for the holidays, received a nude photo from an unknown number. Alarmed, the grandmother promptly informed the family. Upon further questioning, the girl disclosed that the badminton coach had repeatedly abused her. The victim’s mother noted in her complaint that her daughter had frequently skipped dance classes and tutoring sessions to meet with the accused.
