Bellandur Apartment’s Covid cluster rises to 20
10 fresh cases on Tuesday; BBMP sends 554 more samples for tests
BENGALURU:
The number of Covid-19 positive cases in Bellandur’s SJR Watermark Apartment has risen to 20, with Tuesday reporting 10 fresh cases.
BBMP Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad shared the information with the media on Tuesday evening, and added that the samples of another 554 residents have been sent for tests.
The apartment has a total of 9 towers with around 504 flats, of which 470 are occupied. Till Monday evening, 10 residents had tested positive.
On Monday evening, BBMP had sent samples of 501 residents, of which 10 were found infected with the Covid-19 virus. All are asymptomatic and are under home quarantine.
As per Prasad, the total number of 20 infections was reported after 511 residents were tested. 1,055 samples have been taken so far, including 1,000 residents as well as maids and security staff.
