Belagavi Resort: 15-Year-Old Girl Gangraped; Two Arrested, One at Large
Belagavi: In a deeply disturbing incident, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped at a resort just outside Belagavi a week ago. Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the crime, while a third, who is a minor, is currently being sought.
According to police reports, the case was registered under the POCSO Act. It appears that a person named Sakeeb booked a room at the resort. The victim was then brought to the resort by one of the minor suspects, who was known to her as a friend. There, Sakeeb and the two minors allegedly committed the assault.
The horrific incident came to light when the girl returned home and complained of stomach pain. Her mother took her to the hospital, where the gangrape was discovered. The initial case was filed at the Tilakwadi police station but has since been transferred to the Market police station under the direction of Police Commissioner Iada Martin Marbaniang.
Adding a sensitive layer to the case, the third suspect who is currently evading arrest, is reportedly the son of a police officer. Authorities are actively searching for him.
