BBMP extends 5% property tax rebate till May 31

Extension of rebate period at 11th hour, but still a relief for Bengalureans

BENGALURU:

Amid the surge in Covid-19 positive cases in Bengaluru, BBMP has decided to extend the 5% rebate period for paying property tax for the year 2021-22 till May 31.

An order to this effect was issued by Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta on Thursday evening.

As per the rules, BBMP can provide 5% rebate for property tax payment only in the first month (April) of the financial year. But the Act empowers BBMP to further extend the rebate period by one more month.
