solve grievances
BENGALURU:
In the absence of elected representatives, whose five- year tenure came to an end on September 10, BBMP Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad has appointed nodal officers to all 198 wards, wio will address all kinds of grievances in their respective wards.
The names of the 198 nodal officers and their contact numbers have been published on BBMP website.
The ward committees will function under the chairmanship of the ward’s nodal officer to alleviate public grievances. A junior engineer and a senior or junior health inspector will also be part of the panel.
The committees will meet on the first and third Saturdays of each month to discuss issues pertaining to their wards and submit proposals to the Commissioner through zonal commissioners.
Among other responsibilities, the committees will ensure segregation of waste from households and commercial establishments.
