BBMP Celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava Day

In honor of Karnataka Rajyotsava, BBMP administrator Rakesh Singh and Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath, hoisted the flag and paid floral tributes to a portrait of Mother Bhuvaneshvari in front of the head office premises.

This year’s Kannada Rajyotsava ceremony was celebrated in a special manner, marking the completion of 50 years since the renaming of Mysore state as Karnataka.

After the flag hoisting in the BBMP area, the National Anthem, Naad Anthem, and Mother Bhuvaneshwari’s portrait were adorned with flowers, followed by the singing of five Kannada songs:

(a) Udayavaga Nama Chaluva Kannada Nadu – Huilagola Narayanarayar. (ಉದಯವಾಗಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಚಲುವ ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡು – ಹುಯಿಲಗೊಳ ನಾರಾಯಣರಾಯರು.)
(b) That All of Them Exist – Kuvempu. (ಎಲ್ಲಾದರು ಇರು ಎಂತಾದರು ಇರು – ಕುವೆಂಪು.)
(c) One One One Karnataka One – D.Ra.Bendre. (ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದೇ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಒಂದೇ – ದ.ರಾ.ಬೇಂದ್ರೆ.)
(d) Kannada Lamp of Kannada – Siddaiah Puranika. (ಹೊತ್ತಿತೋ ಹೊತ್ತಿತೋ ಕನ್ನಡದ ದೀಪ – ಸಿದ್ದಯ್ಯ ಪುರಾಣಿಕ.)
(e) Karnataka Became Known as Karnataka, Let Kannada Flourish – Channaveerakanavi. (ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಉಸಿರಾಗಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ – ಚನ್ನವೀರಕಣವಿ.)

In front of the palike head office, rangolis depicting the map of Karnataka were created using red and yellow colors, accompanied by the slogan “Karnataka Celebration-50: Esarayu Karnataka, Usiragali Kannada.”

During the event, special commissioner Munish Moudgil, Shivananda Kalkeri, Dr. K. Harish Kumar, Reddy Shankar Babu and others were present.
