BENGALURU:
The second special train to Bengaluru from New Delhi arrived at the KSR railway station at 6.40 am on Saturday. All 506 passengers were sent to institutional quarantine after being screened by BBMP and Health Department staff.
The police kept a tight watch on the situation, in light of the protests over quarantine by some passengers who had deboarded an earlier train from New Delhi. Around 19 of the earlier batch had returned to New Delhi rather than go into quarantine.
Most of the passengers who deboarded on Saturday chose 3-star hotels and went there in 6 BMTC buses.
SWR’s PRO Vijaye E said, “The train that left New Delhi day before yesterday night has reached at right time at 6.40 am at SBC. Over 506 passengers are expected to have arrived by this train. Passengers from 3 coaches deboarded.”
