BENGALURU:
The Department of Pre-University Education has decided to decentralise assessment of answer papers at the district level.
As per sources, the department will soon begin evaluation of all the other 2nd PUC papers. One of the PU deputy directors said colleges and evaluators will be notified soon.
If the assessment work is started before conducting the last (English) exam, the results can be announced quicker and will benefit students.
Only after the SSLC exam is completed can the PU admission process start, said sources in the department.
Shortage of evaluators in some districts could be a problem.
Speaking to the media, PU department director Kanagavalli said, “We will issue a notice in the next week regarding the commencement of evaluation.”
