After Ramanagara case, Chamrajanagar is only virus-free district in state

93 infections on Monday take Karnataka’s  tally to 2,182

Ramanagara and Chamarajnagar were the two districts in Karnataka that had not been touched by the virus, but that changed when a positive case was reported from the former on Monday.

The Ramanagara case is a two-year-old boy who returned with his family from Tamil Nadu.

With two deaths reported on Monday, the Covid-19 toll in the state has gone up to 44, while the number of positive cases have surged to 1,431.

As per the bulletin released by Karnataka Health bulletin, “P-1686, 55 years, female patient, resident of Bengaluru Rural, diagnosed as SARI, was admitted to designated hospital on 19.05.2020 and died due to ARDS on 24.05.2020.”

Of the other death reported from Dakshina Kannada, the bulletin said: “P-2175, 43 years, male patient, resident of Dakshina Kannada, known case of cirrhosis of liver, got admitted to designated hospital at Dakshina Kannada on 23.05.2020 and died the same day. The lab report confirmed positive for Covid-19 on 25.05.2020.”

With 93 cases recorded on Monday, the state’s active cases are 1,431, of which 17 are in intensive care  and 705 have recovered. The total Covid-19 count has surged to 2,182.

On Monday, 32  tested positive in Udupi, 16 in Kalaburagi, 15 in Yadgir and eight in Bengaluru. Mandya, Belagavi, Hassan, Vijayapura, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Dharwad, Ballari, Kolar and Tumakuru also reported cases.
