CHIKKABALLAPUR:
Three youths drowned in the Thirupaganahalli lake in Chikkaballapur taluk of Bangalore Rural district on Monday.
The victims have been identified as Chandru (20), Raju (19) and Naveen (24), residents of Ramamurthy Nagar in Bengaluru.
On Monday, a group of 4 boys and 4 girls had gone on a motorbike ride from Ramamurthy Nagar.
To celebrate Naveen’s birthday, they had visited the Ghati Subramanya temple. But the temple was closed, so they came to the lake. Three of them went for a swim but drowned.
According to locals, the Chikkaballapur village inspected the site of the incident. Firefighters reached the spot and were searching for the bodies.
