A.N. Krishna Rao Convention Centre, Dr Puneeth Rajkumar auditorium inaugurated in Bengaluru’s Yediyur
BENGALURU: The A.N. Krishna Rao Convention Centre and Dr Puneeth Rajkumar auditorium were inaugurated in Yediyur ward of the Padmanabhanagar Assembly constituency on Monday.
Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, producer Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, A.N. Krishna Rao’s son Gautham, former BBMP ruling party leader N.R. Ramesh and former corporator Poornima Ramesh inaugurated the facilities.
The fully air-conditioned convention centre has been developed to provide an affordable venue for weddings, engagements and receptions, particularly for middle-income and economically weaker families. The auditorium is intended for film festivals, audio and video launches, cultural programmes, theatre events and school and college functions.
Ramesh said the convention centre would be available for weddings and other functions at ₹75,000, while the auditorium would be offered at ₹25,000. He said the facilities were created as part of efforts to equip Yediyur with essential civic and social infrastructure.
Ashoka said the project had transformed an old civic building into a modern public facility and urged citizens to join hands with the government in improving Bengaluru. Surya called for early BBMP elections, saying elected councillors were essential for directly addressing citizens’ concerns.
Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar appealed to residents to make use of the facilities and thanked the civic body and those involved in developing the building.
