CHAMARAJANAGAR: Two offenders who committed sexual misconduct against a minor have been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the District and Sessions Court and the POCSO Court. Mahesh Prasad (32) from Alur village and Siddamallu (28) from Venkatayyanchattri village were the offenders.
Siddamallu, the second accused, convinced the victim that he would marry her to commit the sexual misconduct against her. Mahesh Prasad, the first accused, was aware of Siddamallu’s affection for the victim. He threatened to inform the victim’s family about it and then committed the sexual misconduct against her.
This case was documented in the East Police Station in June 2019. The trial took place in the POCSO Court, where Judge N. R. Lokappa sentenced the offenders to 20 years in prison. The victim was also awarded a compensation of 4 lakh rupees by the Legal Services Authority. Special government prosecutor K. Yogesh advocated for prosecution.
