9.2 km stretch from KR Market to Bellandur lake will have walkways and service roads

BENGALURU:

Work on the Koramangala Rajakaluve (K-100) waterway from KR Market to Bellandur lake is continuing at a quick pace, and on Tuesday ACS-cum-Development Commissioner Vandita Sharma and BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta reviewed the ongoing work.

The 9.2 km stretch is being constructed at a cost of Rs 175 crore under the Chief Minister’s Navanagarothana project. Domestic sewage that was entering the rajakaluve has been redirected by BWSSB to separate sewage lines. Desilting 3.2 km of the proposed waterway is in progress.

Work on STP underway

It is proposed to green the waterway, install lighting and create pedestrian paths. Near Kumbaragundi, work on a 5 mld STP is underway. Three bridges are being built atop the waterway, of which two have been completed. Power transformers have been installed and service roads are being built on both sides of the waterway.

Among those present during the inspection were Chief Engineer Prahallad and Executive Engineer Shariff.
