NOIDA electronics company wants to set up shop in Karnataka
Govt favourable, land identified: DCM Narayan

Dixon Technologies (India) Limited, a NOIDA-based company and a leading manufacturer of laptops, tabs and other consumer electronic goods, has come forward to set up a manufacturing plant in Karnataka. Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayan, who also holds the portfolio of Electronics, convened a meeting in this regard with company officials on Thursday.
Sunil Vachani, Executive President of the company, submitted a proposal seeking land and other requirements to establish the unit, to which the DCM responded positively.
The project will be considered under the ambit of Electronic System and Design and Manufacturing policy. The company has sought 15 acres and will be given land at any one of the identified locations at Masthenahalli or Mindenalli of Kolar district, Haraluru of Bengaluru Rural district and Harohally of Ramanagara, Narayan said.
‘Jobs for locals’
As per the ESDM policy, the company will be eligible for subsidies and other concessions if it establishes the plant outside Bengaluru Urban district. The company will also be asked to provide jobs to the local people, the DCM said.
The company,which has a market value of over Rs 30,000 crore, also makes desktop computers, CFL bulbs, LED TVs, CCTVs and washing machines.
Atul Lal, MD, Dixon, Dr. EV Ramana Reddy, ACS, Department of IT/BT, P Pradeep, Secretary to the DCM, Dr Meena Nagaraj, Department of IT, Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner, Industrial Development, and other senior officials were present.
