Senior IAS Officers Tushar Giri Nath and Rajendra Cholan Appointed to Key Roles in Karnataka Chief Minister’s Office

Bengaluru, June 3: The Karnataka Government has issued a major administrative reshuffle, appointing senior IAS officers Tushar Giri Nath and Rajendra Cholan P to key positions in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) with immediate effect.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR), Tushar Giri Nath, IAS (1993 batch), who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Urban Development Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Bengaluru.

The notification states that Tushar Giri Nath will continue to hold concurrent charge as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Urban Development Department, until further orders.
In another significant appointment, Rajendra Cholan P, IAS (2008 batch), who was serving as Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the Chief Minister, Bengaluru, with immediate effect.
Additionally, Rajendra Cholan has been entrusted with concurrent charge as Managing Director of Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL), Bengaluru. He will replace Gaurav Gupta, IAS, who was holding the position as an additional charge.
The appointments are being viewed as important administrative changes within the Karnataka government, strengthening the Chief Minister’s Office with experienced officers handling key governance, infrastructure and development portfolios.
Tushar Giri Nath is regarded as one of Karnataka’s most senior bureaucrats, having held several important positions in urban administration and governance. His continued oversight of the Urban Development Department alongside his new role in the CMO is expected to ensure closer coordination on major infrastructure and urban development initiatives.
Rajendra Cholan’s appointment as Secretary to the Chief Minister and concurrent charge as KPCL Managing Director places him in a crucial position overseeing both administrative coordination and power sector management.
The transfers have been made with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders from the state government.
